Whether you’re an elite athlete, you play sports once a week or you jog, hike or do yoga every few days, physical activity gets your heart pumping and your oxygen flowing. But COVID-19 is a respiratory illness. Shortness of breath is a common symptom.

If you get COVID-19, will it sideline your ability to play sports? Will your heart be permanently affected? Will you be able to breathe OK during physical activity?

In this recorded webinar, Dr. Naveed Naz, sports cardiologist at VCU Health Pauley Heart Center, discusses how COVID-19 affects your heart and explains how pre-existing conditions, the severity of your COVID-19 symptoms and tests such as EKGs, MRIs and stress tests can help determine how quickly you may return to physical activities, training or competitions.
